Type up your feedback in full (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential).

WWW: brilliant, first assessment Sami-not surprised given your detailed blog work! Good level of  detail for unseen denotation+ connotation analysis of Beyoncé advert. You are already including relevant media terminology  keep this up.

EBI:a careless mistake for Q4-just consider connotations of setting for Q6 provide more media terminology such as camera shots/mise en scene to support your response.

17/30 grade 5

2) Read the mark scheme for this assessment carefully. Write down the mark you achieved for each question:

Q1:1 mark
Q2:1 mark
Q3:7 marks
Q4:1 mark
Q5:4 marks
Q6:3 marks

3) Identify one of your stronger questions. Why did you do better on this question? Use the mark scheme to help you with this.

Q3:was one of my better questions because I had Good analysis of the product that is clear and generally engages with the nuanced aspects of how design and layout are used.
Focused on meanings created by different elements of design and layout is mostly effective although lacks clarity in places. Mostly appropriate and effective use of subject specific terminology.

4) Identify one of your weaker questions. Why did you score lower on this particular question? Use the mark scheme to help you with this.

Q6:was one of my weaker questions because I had  Satisfactory knowledge and understanding of
the theoretical framework, demonstrated by generally effective explanation of why
advertisers use children. Some appropriate and effective reference to the Water Aid advert. Mostly appropriate and effective use of media terminology throughout.

5) Finally, write a new, detailed paragraph for Question 3 - the unseen text 12 mark question. Use the mark scheme to identify anticipated content you can add to your response and make sure you refer to the text and write in detail.

we can see that Beyoncé is wearing a red dress which is a symbolic media code. We can infer that this perfume is for love or romance because of the colours chosen and the lighting. They show their logo 'heat' in the advert which is a written media code. we can infer that this perfume is hot and the slogan 'catch the fever' in the advert which is also another written media code. they also add their website where you can order the perfume which is another written media code. they use a long shot of Beyoncé to show her whole body and the way she is stood is confident,  so the audience might think when you put the perfume on you will also feel confident. The design is used this way on purpose because they want to show Beyoncé as powerful when she uses this perfume in this advert. They use all capital letters large red font lines which link to brand identifying of the perfume bottle.
