I Daniel Blake was a successful film, not because of action or a complex plot, but its emotional storyline and social  reality. Directed by Ken Loach, the film highlights the struggles of the working class, focusing on a man caught in the welfare system. Through Daniel's journey, Loach shows social inequality drawing empathy from the audience for the people who can relate. In comparison to a film like black widow, which shows fast action and superhero's I Daniel Blake takes a more grounded and relatable  approach. While black widow entertains with a larger-than-life story and stunning sequences,  I Daniel Blake is successful in its portrayal of a human struggle showing social reflection. The success of I Daniel Blake lies in its ability to create empathy thought about real life issues, whereas Black widow succeeds in its ability to entertain and offer escapism. While both films are successful in their own they cater to different needs—one for social consciousness, the other for entertainment.
